Kick off your tour by stepping aboard M/V MONHEGAN, a beautifully restored wooden lobster boat. Cruise through Portland's historic harbor, passing by early American-era wharves and stone fortresses that once protected the port.
View the small lighthouse marking the entrance to Portland Harbor, the first of four lighthouses you'll see during your cruise.
Get close to Spring Point Light and Fort Preble, a historic gun emplacement. Learn about Portland’s harbor defenses and maritime history.
Admire Maine’s most famous lighthouse from the water. Weather permitting, you'll have time for photos and a discussion about its history. The lighthouse remains active, so no tours inside.
See Ram Island Light perched atop a rocky ledge, often appearing to float at high tide. It’s weathered and remote, with a now-derelict pier leading to a ladder for access.
Cruise past Casco Bay’s rugged islands, including Cushing Island and Peaks Island, known for their scenic cliffs, quaint cottages, and rich history. You’ll also see Fort Gorges, a historic fortress built to defend Portland Harbor.
